Gosainkunda trek (spiritual trek)

Gosainkunda Trekking brings you to the highest parts of Nepal's Central Himalaya, located north of Kathmandu valley in the Langtang Himal range of Rasuwa district, and is considered the holiest of all Himalayan holy spots.

Gosainkunda Trekking is a brief adventure that will take you through a serene wilderness of high hills with spectacular vistas of mountain ranges ranging from the Langtang-Ganesh-Jugal Himal to the Manaslu and Annapurna ranges in the west.

Gosainkunda Trekking begins with an adventurous overland trek from Kathmandu to cooler places in the Rasuwa district's headquarter and administrative town of Dhunche, as well as the Langtang Himal region, which is home to the indigenous Tamang tribes, Himalayan hill people.

The Gosaikunda trip is rated as moderately challenging, while the difficulty level varies depending on factors such as your age, hiking habits, physical fitness, the itinerary you choose, and the weather of the season you are trekking in. These factors determine whether the trek will be easy or difficult. Keep in mind that you'll be at 4380 meters in two days if you leave Dunche (2100m). If you choose a 5-day plan, you can descend 2200 meters from Gosaikunda to Dunche in one day. If you are a beginner who has never trekked before but enjoys being in nature and is willing to go, we recommend the 7-day extended version. The following are some examples of itineraries.

Your Journey Unfolds

1

Drive to Dhunche

Our journey will begin early in the morning. After breakfast, our guide will assist you in reaching Machha Pokhari Bus Station. From there, we'll take a bus to Dhunche (2,030m/6,660ft) in Kathmandu. We will be able to enjoy the gorgeous communities and meadows along the road. It will take us about 5-6 hours to reach Dhunche via a lovely picturesque route that runs alongside the massive Trishuli river. Dhunche is a tiny hamlet and the administrative center of the Rasuwa District. After arriving in Dhunche, we'll take a trip around the hamlet and mingle with the residents. We'll spend the night at a well-kept tea house after a wonderful evening with the locals.

2

Trek to Chandanwari

We will begin our day 2 walk in Dhunche after breakfast and rise towards Chandanwari. We'll arrive at Deurali (2,500m), a little settlement on the way to Chandanbari with a few tea houses, after about 2 hours of climbing. After 3 hours of climbing, we will reach Dhimsa (2,900m) via a lovely track that passes past streamlets and cascades. The journey from Dhimsa is a little more tough, since it winds uphill through magnificent pine forests. To get to Chandanwari (3200m), a village nestled in a pine forest, we must walk hard uphill stretches. Sing Gompa is another name for this location. Chandanwari has a lot to offer its visitors. A Yak cheese factory and a monastery are the major attractions of Chandanwari. We will try the delicious Yak cheese and visit Sing Gompa. In the evening, after a hearty meal with lots of cheese, we will spend our night in Chandanwari.

3

Trek to Gosaikunda

We'll trek uphill to Gosaikunda after a full breakfast in Chandanwari (4361m). The hiking today will be more tough than it was yesterday. From the start, the trail progressively ascends. All the way to Gosaikunda, we'll be hiking on difficult and narrow terrain. As we climb, you'll be forced to trek across desolate hills and into a cold breeze. As a result, make sure you're dressed warmly enough to stay comfortable in such a frigid setting.

4

Trek back to Dhunche

We'll arrive to Cholangpaty after hiking for approximately an hour and a half (3500m). Mountains such as Langtang Lirung (7234m), Langtang Ri (7205m), Manaslu (8163m), and Ganesh Himal (7422m) can now be seen up close and clear. We'll arrive to Lauribinayak after another 2 hours of walking (3900m). A panoramic view of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Masalu, and Langtang Ri may be viewed from Lauri Binayak. After that, we'll go up for about 2 hours to a temple named Sakyamuni, which has both Hindu and Buddhist values. After a half-hour hike, we will come across Saraswati Kunda, Bhairav Kunda, and the Mighty Lake Gosaikunda. We'll spend the night in a tea house and visit other neighboring lakes. We'll have breakfast in our hotel while taking in the beautiful sunrise. We'll climb up to Gosaikunda and then return through Lauribinayak, Dhimsa, and Deurali to Dhunche. Today is the last day of the journey. As a result, savor every moment of the adventure. We'll be descending while admiring the enticing vistas of mountains, pine forests, and Chandanwari's delicious cheese. Hiking will be a little simpler and more pleasurable because we'll be descending. Along the walk, you'll witness protected birds including the Wood Snipe, Snow Partridge, Tibetan Snow Cock, and others. After about 7 hours of hiking, we'll arrive in Dhunche.

5

Return to Kathmandu

Our journey comes to an end today. We'll enjoy breakfast after a wonderful night's sleep in one of Dhunche's tea shops. After breakfast, we'll board a bus to Kathmandu and travel along a magnificent route that takes us by the vast Trishuli River, meadows, and picturesque communities. We will arrive in Kathmandu after about 6-7 hours of biking. This is where our journey comes to an end. This excursion will provide you with many memories to cherish. The huge Gosaikunda lake, gorgeous pathways, culturally rich Tamang people, Tibetan-influenced lifestyle, and delectable Yak's cheese are all sights you'll remember for the rest of your life.
